The Geography department took year 7 students to Ainsdale beach to learn about coastlines and bring their curriculum alive. Everybody had a wonderful time and were able to put their learning to the test. Enrichment trips play a valuable part of the curriculum at Philips and everyone gets a lot out of them.

Our year 7 students have recently been learning about reproduction in their science lessons. As part of this learning they were tasked to apply their scientific skills to document daily observations of plants growing. They did a great job, were very thorough and enjoyed being able to track the plants’ growth. it was a great way to put their learning into practice. Well done guys!

In an impressive display of creativity and adaptability, the science department at Philips High School transformed the sports hall into a dynamic mock field and river environment for year 11 students. This innovative approach allowed students to develop critical field investigation skills in a controlled setting, overcoming the challenges posed by winter weather. It was an exciting day of competition, with 11 schools and approximately 110 pupils participating in each race. In honour of Remembrance Day, the dedicated cadets of Philips High School engaged in a meaningful series of activities to show respect and raise funds for veterans. Over the last two weeks, the cadets have been actively involved in selling poppy merchandise, both around the school grounds and in the community.
