Numeracy Intervention 2014-2015
Key Points
- Most pupils made progress of basic skills after numeracy intervention, particularly with addition and multiplication.
- Key pupils have been highlighted that are a concern. These are predominately in Orange group and are also Pupil Premium.
- Pupils have improved key skills but this has not always followed to end of year test.
- 75% of Year 7 pupils identified for numeracy have made 1 or more sublevel progress from KS2. 45% made 2 or more.
- 90% of Year 8 pupils identified for numeracy have made 2 or more sublevel progress from KS2. However only 23% have made 4 or more.
Background
MG highlighted the pupils who needed intervention within different areas of numeracy (add/sub/mult/div). Some pupils highlighted needed intervention in more than one area. It was decided pupils would spend 4 lessons of 30 minutes over 4 weeks on each area with SN. MG would then analyse the progress of pupils after new skills test and year 7 & 8 internal assessments.
