Dear Parents / Carers

Well, what can I say, as I approach my fourth year as Headteacher of Philips High School we have been once again dealt a difficult hand to deal with the outbreak of the Coronavirus. I would like to re-assure all of you that the school and its amazing staff are working very hard through this difficult time and will continue to set work on Show My Homework for all pupils.

We are providing a safe and educational environment for the children of Key Workers and vulnerables.

Arrangements have been made for those pupils who require free school meals.

Please keep up to date by visiting our Twitter Account @PhilipsHigh and the School Website www.philipshighschool.co.uk where we will continue to publish DFE Guidance, links for help and advice and lots of other useful information.

We sent out a survey to all parents. Thank you to those who took the time to complete it. We will now analyse the results to further improve our systems.

I would like to thank all of you for your continued support during this challenging time. We have received many positive and encouraging messages – please keep sending them. It is times like this that we all need to pull together to provide the best education for your children whilst keeping safe and healthy.

As you can see from the Newsletter Philips High grows from strength to strength. The last term was full of amazing activities and involved several hundred children. I would like to thank my hardworking staff for going above and beyond in organising these trips. Unfortunately, many trips have had to be cancelled or postponed due to the current crisis. Please be assured that as soon as we are up and running we will begin planning to ensure pupils do not miss out.

Finally, may I take this opportunity to wish you good health and express my thanks to you all.
Please do not panic or be too stressed about schoolwork.

If you are confused by anything please e-mail SMHW@philipshigh.co.uk and we will try and resolve any issues. Look after yourselves and be safe.
