Parents Evening – Year 11

9th November 2023

Dear Parents/Carers

RE: Virtual Year 11 Parents Evening – Thursday 23rdNovember 2023 – Online Appointment Booking

It gives me great pleasure to invite you to take part in the Virtual Year 11 Parents Evening for your child on Thursday 23rd November 2023. The idea of this evening is for you to virtually meet his/her teachers and to learn the following: –

  • The level of progress they have reached;
  • The extent of their progress;
  • What issues are either helping or hindering their progress; and
  • How you can help them progress

Please prioritise your child’s GCSE examined subjects and if you are placed on a waiting list, you can request a call back from your child’s subject teacher by writing in the box provided. Once your four-minute time slot has elapsed you will be automatically cut off from that Teacher. The duration of the evening is from 4.30 pm to 7.00 pm.

Appointments can be made via our online appointment booking system. This allows you to choose your own appointment times with teachers and you will receive an email confirming your appointments. Before making your appointments please check with your child who their Subject Teacher is to avoid any confusion. You will only need to book one appointment per subject, even if your child has two Teachers for one subject. The system is now open for appointments to be made and will close at 1.00 pm on Thursday 23rd November 2023.

Please visit https://philips.parentseveningsystem.co.uk to book your appointments. (A short guide on how to add appointments is also available on the school website by >> Clicking Here <<).

On the evening of the Parents’ Evening, please open the email you received when you booked your appointments. There should be a link which allows you to access the evening online. As you will understand, it is most important that parents are available promptly at their allocated time. If you lose access during the appointment time, log on again, the time does not reset. When the time is up, the call will end and our teachers cannot alter this as they will be meeting with their next appointment.

If you have a consecutive appointment for another teacher, the screen will display ‘Start Next Appointment’ button or you will see a countdown telling you how long until the start of your next appointment.

If there are any issues arising which require a longer discussion, please contact the school office and your child’s class teacher will arrange to contact you. We are hopeful that all will run smoothly on Thursday but, as with all things technical, there can be unforeseen problems or issues that are beyond our control.

Yours sincerely

Ms T Owen
