RE: Virtual Year 9 Parents Evening – Thursday 27th January 2022– Online Appointment Booking
As Parents’ Evening cannot take place in school, it gives me great pleasure to invite you to take part in the Virtual Year 9 Parents Evening for your son/daughter on Thursday 27th January 2022. The idea of this evening is for you to virtually meet his/her teachers and to learn the following: –
- The level of progress they have reached;
- The extent of their progress;
- What issues are either helping or hindering their progress; and
- How you can help them progress
Staff from all your child’s subjects should be available and we would ask that you make an appointment with each subject teacher for a discussion which should last no more than four minutes. Once the four-minute time slot has elapsed you will be automatically cut off from that Teacher. The duration of the evening is from 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm.
Appointments can be made via our online appointment booking system. This allows you to choose your own appointment times with teachers and you will receive an email confirming your appointments. Before making your appointments please check with your child who their Subject Teacher is to avoid any confusion. You will only need to book one appointment per subject, even if your child has two Teachers for one subject. The system is now open for appointments to be made and will close at 1.00 pm on Thursday 27th January 2022.
Please visit https://philips.parentseveningsystem.co.uk to book your appointments. (A short guide on how to add appointments is attached here with this letter.).
On the evening of the Parents’ Evening, please open the email you received when you booked your appointments. There should be a link which allows you to access the evening online. As you will understand, it is most important that parents are available promptly at their allocated time. If you lose access during the appointment time, log on again, the time does not reset. When the time is up, the call will end and our teachers cannot alter this as they will be meeting with their next appointment.
If you have a consecutive appointment for another teacher, the screen will display ‘Start Next Appointment’ button or you will see a countdown telling you how long until the start of your next appointment.
If there are any issues arising which require a longer discussion, please contact the school office and your child’s class teacher will arrange to contact you. We are hopeful that all will run smoothly on Thursday but, as with all things technical, there can be unforeseen problems or issues that are beyond our control.
