Half Term – Years 11
24 May 2021

24th May 2021

To all Parents/Carers of 11 Pupils

Dear Parents/Carers

Re:  Early Finishing Time – Half Term:  Friday 28th May 2021

I am writing to advise you that school will finish on Friday, at the earlier time of 12.30 pm for Year 11 pupils in order to allow staff extra time to mark and moderate assessments.

Pupils will remain in classes until the end of Period 3.  At 12.15 pm they will go to their Form Rooms where they will be allowed to sign shirts until 12.30 pm when they will then be dismissed.  They will have to stay within their form rooms and not mix – as per track and trace.

We have unfortunately had to send over 40 year 11 pupils home this morning after being identified as being in close contact with a positive covid case within their year group.  This was extremely upsetting and disappointing not only for the pupils but also for us as staff.  We do not make this decision.  We have to follow the Guidelines set out by the Government and Public Health England.

Year 11 pupils will be invited back at a later date for a Leavers’ Assembly and to collect their hoodies when hopefully Covid restrictions will have been lifted and they can gather together as a group.

As an extra treat – for all the hard work they have been putting in Year 11 pupils will also be allowed a “non-uniform” day on Wednesday of this week.  They must however remember to bring in their equipment required for lessons that day.

Any Y11 pupils who are required to come back into school after half term for their assessments will be told on Friday.

Kind regards,

Yours sincerely

Ms T Owen
