To All Parents/Carers of Year 11 Students
This week I have spoken to Year 11 pupils again regarding the GCSE Teacher Assessed Grades (TAGs) and their leaving date.
As you already know we are currently collecting the pieces of evidence required for the pupils’ portfolios. The final assessment fortnight is 10th to 21st May, this will be followed by a final week to do any catch up – 24th to 28th May. Please see link https://www.philipshigh.co.uk/examinfo for more information.
If your child has provided the evidence required for their TAGs by the 28th May this will be their last day in school. From 7th June Year 11 pupils will be set remote bridging tasks to get them ready for their next steps such as College, Apprenticeships etc.
If your child has not yet provided the evidence needed they will need to attend school for those subjects only up to 18th June. You will be advised in advance if your child is required to attend up to 18th June and for which subjects.
It is a challenging time for pupils, staff and parents. Please encourage your child as much as possible to work hard on their evidence and not settle for a lower grade than their target. Make sure they are getting lots of rest and sleep!
Thank you so much for your support through the most challenging of times.
Ms T Owen
