Re: Update from Ms T Owen – Headteacher
We have now reached the end of our first half term of 2021 and I would like to wish you all a very healthy and peaceful break.
The test centre has been running extremely well and we have continued to test staff twice weekly. All pupils attending school – who gave consent – have been tested. Protocols put in place regarding testing, remote learning and for the pupils working in school have been strictly adhered to at all times. The systems have worked very well and we have received many positive comments.
After half term we will continue with testing and the pupils with places in school, who have consented, will have their test on Monday 22nd February. They will remain in school after their test and will be tested again on Thursday. This will help keep the school safe.
We have two Virtual Parents’ Evenings coming up. The Year 7 Virtual Parents’ evening on Thursday 25th February (full details and instructions on the school website) and the Year 8 Virtual Parents’ Evening on Thursday 11th March (full details and instructions on the school website nearer the time). The second Drop Down Day is on Wednesday 3rd March.
We await the government’s announcement on the 22nd February as to what happens next in respect of a full return to school for pupils and the decision on the examinations process for our Year 11 pupils. Once this decision has been made we can start to put our plans in place as a school and you will of course be informed as soon as possible.
May I take this opportunity to thank you all once again for your continued support. We could not have got through these difficult times without you
Ms T Owen
