To all Parents/Carers for Year 11 Students
I hope you and your families are safe and well. I wanted to communicate with you regarding a number of issues and to inform you of our next steps regarding year 11.
Firstly, can I say how much Year 11 pupils have been in our thoughts since the lockdown was announced and I wanted to personally say how disappointing it was that we could not say goodbye properly. Nevertheless, we managed to pull together a mini-celebration with Pizza and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. We now await news regarding re-scheduling the Prom and we will be in touch as soon as we hear anything.
I would like to say how proud and impressed I have been with the vast majority of the year with the dedication and hard work demonstrated through their online learning and work packs. This work, along with mock exams, homework and classwork over the past year and a half has allowed us to produce the predicted grades the Government requested. These are in the final checking stage. Exam results day is still scheduled for Thursday 20th August and we will be in touch regarding the arrangements for this in due course.
Staff will stop setting work for Year 11 at half term. Students should then use KS5 pre-reading lists to begin reading around their chosen subject, please see school website for additional information. You can also find transition information on College websites. Our Careers Officer continues to be in contact with students to provide extra support.
Finally, can I wish you all the best for the future. Stay in touch, send us pictures and stay safe. The reason we work in education is to see young people grow and develop into amazing young adults. Hopefully we will see you again soon.
Love to you all and best wishes.
Ms T Owen
